BRIEF HISTORY OF MAARDEC'S REACH - OUT PROGRAMME

Reach-out Programme was conceived in 1994 by the President and CEO of Mobility Aid and Appliances Research and Development Centre (MAARDEC) Mr. Cosmas I.B. Okoli as an annual event. The Programme, which debuted that same year on December 15, 1994, was a culmination of MAARDECs belief in positive philanthropy and empowerment of persons with disabilities.

The Reach-out programme was an ideal forum for Nigerians with disabilities to meet and network as they struggle to overcome the many obstacles that hinder their true socio-economic rehabilitation, empowerment and integration into mainstream society
